PDZK1 Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 542 amino acids (1-519 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 59.0kDa. PDZK1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. PDZK1 is a PDZ domain-containing scaffolding protein which facilitates localization of cell surface proteins and has a key part in cholesterol metabolism by regulating the HDL receptor, scavenger receptor class B type 1. Single nucleotide polymorphism in this gene is linked to metabolic syndrome, and overexpression results in drug resistance of multiple myeloma.
