MAPRE3 produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 301 amino acids (1-281a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 34.1kDa. MAPRE3 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. MAPRE3 is a microtubule related protein that cooperates with the colorectal adenomatous polyposis coli tumor suppressor protein and takes a curtail part in regulating microtubule dynamics, cell polarity, and chromosome stability. MAPRE3 protein is related to MAPRE1 and also associates with the microtubule cytoskeleton. MAPRE3 is expressed mainly in the central nervous system and specially associates with APCL, a homolog of the adenomatous polyposis coli tumor suppressor protein.
