PEG-bis-Propionaldehyde, MW 3.4k is a PEG derivative with two aldehyde end groups. Aldehyde is reactive toward hydrazide and aminooxy groups which are commonly used in biomolecular probes for labeling and crosslinking carbonyls (oxidized carbohydrates). The hydrophilic PEG chain increases the water solubility of the compound in aqueous media.
