The NRL reporter lentivirus is ready-to use for monitoring the activity of NRL gene in almost all mammalian cells. The basic motif-leucine zipper transcription factor NRL (neural retina leucine zipper) is essential for rod photoreceptor specification in the mammalian retina. Mutations in this gene have been associated with retinitis pigmentosa and retinal degenerative diseases. This lentivirus expresses TurboRFP under the control of the NRL promoter, can be used as NRL1 gene reporter.
