Myo-inositol is a stereoisomeric form of inositol and the most important isomer of the inositol family which acts as an intracellular second messenger in eukaryotic cells. It is commonly used in plant cell culture to promote the growth. Myo-Inositol also serves as a principal storage form of phosphorus in many plant tissues, particularly bran and seeds.
