Methyltetrazine-PEG24-Acid is one of the most stable tetrazine compounds commercially available containing a terminal carboxylic acid. The terminal carboxylic acid can be reacted with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. EDC, or DCC) to form a stable amide bond. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases water-solubility and electron-donating properties of the methyl group enhances the stability of methyltetrazine-PEG4-Acid.
