Ansamitocin P-3 (AP-3) is an active and potent anti-tumor maytansinoid, which is produced by Actinosynnema spp. Ansamitocin P-3 showed potent cytotoxicity against the human solid tumor cell lines A-549, HT-29. Ansamitocin P-3 is a useful material to make anticancer drug mertansine and emtansine.
