Mal-PEG-10K-Succinimidyl Valerate is a polyPEG derivative containing a maleimide and succinimidyl group. Maleimides react with thiols between pH 6.5 to 7.5. Succinimidyl is a good leaving group and reacts with amine nucleophiles. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases the water solubility of the compound in aqueous media.
