Lauroyl coenzyme A (Lauroyl-CoA) is a long-chain saturated fatty acyl-CoA that acts as a key intermediate in lipid metabolic pathways, contributing to lipid biosynthesis and fatty acid transport. Lauroyl-CoA functions as a substrate for FAM34A family proteins and is generated as a product in firefly luciferase-catalyzed reactions (Ohno et al., 2005; Yamamoto et al., 2006).
