        • L-Fucitol (6-Deoxy-L-galactitol;1-Deoxy-D-galactitol) is a sugar alcohol and a naturally occurring galactitol analogue isolated from Myristica fragrans (Nutmeg). It is a substrate of L-fucitol isomerase and can inhibit galactitol-positive strains of Escherichia coli K12.
