Innate defence regulator peptide.
IDR 1002 is a synthetic host defense peptide derivative with strong anti-inflammatory properties which was identified from a library of bactenecin derivatives. IDR 1002 is protective against the Gram-negative bacterial pathogen Escherichia coli with chemokine induction by IDR 1002 being mediated through a Gi-coupled receptor and the PI3K, NF-kappaB, and MAPK signalling pathways. IDR 1002 suppresses in vitro inflammatory responses in murine monocyte/macrophage cells challenged with TLR4 and TLR2 agonists, and reduces airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammation in a house dust mite challenged model of airway inflammation.
