GMEM Glasgows MEM is a Classic Basic Medium.
GMEM, Glasgow's MEM, originally developed by Ian McPherson and Michael Stoker, is a modified version of MEM basal medium used to study the influence of genetic factors on cell behavior. GMEM is suitable for the culture of renal cell lines such as BHK-21 and contains twice the concentration of amino acids and vitamins compared to BME (Basal Medium Eagle) medium. To use this medium, 10 % tryptone phosphate broth without serum is required.
