The Research Epinephrine ELISA is an enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative determination of epinephrine in Biological Fluids and Tissue Homogenate using sample volumes between 1-100 ul, depending on sample type and expected concentrations. Epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine are members of the catacholamine family which act as hormones and neurotransmitters throughout the body. The main role of catecholamines is in the adaptation to acute and chronic stress, often described as the ""flight or flight response."" The release of epinephrine into the bloodstream results in an increased heart rate and blood pressure while suppressing non-emergency needs such as digestion." The Research Epinephrine ELISA is for Research Use Only.
