DKK1 Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 258 amino acids (32-266 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 28.2kDa. DKK1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Dickkopf-related protein 1 (DKK1) antagonizes canonical Wnt signaling by inhibiting LRP5/6 interaction with Wnt and by creating a ternary complex with the transmembrane protein KREMEN which promotes internalization of LRP5/6. DKKs have a significant role in vertebrate development, where they locally inhibit Wnt controlled processes for instance antero-posterior axial patterning, limb development, somitogenesis and eye formation. Furthermore, Dkks are involved in bone formation and bone disease, cancer and Alzheimer disease in Adults.
