Background
Dibucaine is an amin amide local anesthetic [1].Dibucaine has shown the ability to block the fast axonal transport of proteins. In addition, a 0.5 mM concentration of Dibucaine has been revealed to inhibit transport approximately as much as dose a 1mM concentration of tetracaine. Furthermore, 1mM concentration of Dibucaine has been reported to reduce the radioactivity at the ligature by 92%, and 0.5mM concentration of Dibucaine has been reported to reduce the radioactivity at the ligature by 72% in the experiments examined the effect on fast axonal transport of 3H-proteins [1].
