[D-Tyr27&36,D-Thr32]-Neuropeptide
Y (27-36)
MW: 1338.7
H-D-Tyr-Ile-Asn-Leu-Ile-D-Thr-Arg-Gln-Arg-D-Tyr-NH2
When the tyrosine and threonine residues of the C-terminal decapeptide of NPY are replaced by their D-isomers, the peptide acts as an effective antagonist of
NPY action on feeding when injected into the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) or ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH) 15 minutes before NPY. It also exhibits anorexic action, reducing the eating pattern of rats deprived of food in a dose-dependent manner.
