CD117 (c-kit, SCFR) is a 145 kDa receptor tyrosine kinase expressed on pluripotent hematopoietic progenitor cells and mast cells. It regulates cell proliferation, adhesion, chemotaxis, apoptosis and other cell processes. After binding of its ligand, SCF (stem cell factor), CD117 is autophosphorylated on its intracellular domains and activated.
