CPE Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 457 amino acids (43-476 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 51.4kDa. CPE is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Carboxypeptidase-E (CPE ) is a carboxypeptidase that cleaves C-terminal amino acid residues and is involved in the biosynthesis of peptide hormones and neurotransmitters, including insulin. CPE is a peripheral membrane protein. CPE specifically connects regulated secretory pathway proteins, including prohormones, but constitutively secreted proteins. Mutations in CPE are implicated in type II diabetes.
