      • Overview
        • Copper Tungsten is a pseudo-alloy composed of copper (Cu) and tungsten (W). It combines the beneficial properties of both metals, resulting in a material with unique characteristics. Copper tungsten is commonly used in various industries due to its excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, high melting point, and good mechanical properties.
The manufacturing process of copper tungsten typically involves powder metallurgy techniques. The powdered copper and tungsten are mixed in the desired ratios and then compacted under high pressure. The compacted material is subjected to a sintering process, where it is heated to a temperature below the melting point to bond the particles together. Additional processing steps, such as hot pressing or infiltration, may be employed to achieve specific properties and shapes.
As copper and tungsten shall not really melt together, Cu-W is produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the high electric conductivity and relatively high max. working temperature of this material, copper-Tungsten electrode is usually used in electric component, such as electrodes.

      • Applications
        • Application Description
Copper tungsten exhibits a range of desirable properties. Its high electrical and thermal conductivity make it suitable for applications requiring efficient heat dissipation and electrical conductivity, such as electrical contacts, heat sinks, and electrodes. The material also has excellent arc and wear resistance, making it ideal for electrical discharge machining (EDM) electrodes and spot welding electrodes. Copper Tungsten s high melting point and low thermal expansion coefficient make it suitable for use in high-temperature applications, including rocket nozzles and electrical connectors in aerospace and defense industries.
