CellShip Cell Transport medium without insulin

CellShip® is our fully defined, xeno-free cell transportation medium. It’s our new alternative to cryopreservation.
Cellship is our simple and low-cost way to transport or store cells at ambient temperatures. Our new product provides an alternative to cryopreservation for the transport and short-term storage of mammalian cell lines.
We are happy to share that LSG developed CellShip® as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (Innovate UK) between LSG and Coventry University.
This new, innovative product provides an alternative to using logistically challenging and expensive dry ice or shippers. Your cells can now be transported between many different sites at ambient temperatures. Simple!
An important benefit to note is that the protocol requires minimal cell manipulation. It also reduces the risk of contamination and improves efficiency within the laboratory.

Transport
First, you culture the cells using standard growth media and conditions.
Then, you harvest the cells using your standard method for sub-culturing. Next, you centrifuge the cells at room temperature for 5 min at 180 x g. Then, you must discard the supernatant.
Next, you resuspend the cells in 2 -3 mL of CellShip® and centrifuge as before. Finally, you resuspend the cells in 2 mL of CellShip® and then transfer the cells to a 2 mL cryotube for transport.

Recovery
To begin, you gently resuspended the cells and then transfer them to the appropriate volume of
complete medium. Finally, you culture the cells using standard conditions.
There is no need to remove CellShip® before recovering the cells.
To date, our product is validated for up to 120 h of transport/storage at ambient temperatures.
