Bis-dPEG®9-NHS ester, product number 10246, is a homobifunctional, amine-reactive, single molecular weight PEG crosslinker with a discrete PEG (dPEG®) chain length. Each end of the chain terminates as the N-hydroxysuccinimidyl (NHS) ester of propionic acid. Bis-dPEG®9-NHS ester, product number 10246, has been published in the scientific literature. Homobifunctional Reagents
Homobifunctional reagents are chemical compounds that contain two identical reactive groups. Symmetrical homobifunctional reagents were among the first crosslinkers developed for conjugation of biomolecules. These were typically hydrophobic compounds, and their use – particularly in one-step reactions – often was accompanied with problems such as inactivation and precipitation of the conjugated biomolecules.
Ourproducts are amphiphilic. Therefore, they impart water solubility to molecules to which they are conjugated. Consequently, when used in crosslinking reactions, Bis-dPEG®9-NHS ester will not cause problems such as aggregation, precipitation, and inactivation. Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
