Biotin-PEG-amine, MW 5K is a PEG derivative containing a biotin group and a free amine. The biotin group is used for the conjugation of proteins and can also be used for labeling. The free amine can react with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters and other carbonyl groups. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the water solubility of the compound.
