BaZr0.2Ti0.8O3 (BZT) is a solid solution of barium titanate (BaTiO3) and barium zirconate (BaZrO3), resulting in a perovskite-type oxide material. The incorporation of zirconium into the titanium site of the BaTiO3 structure enhances the materials dielectric properties, such as a high dielectric constant and low dielectric loss. BZT exhibits excellent ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and pyroelectric characteristics, making it suitable for applications in capacitors, sensors, actuators, and energy harvesting devices. BZT thin films can be deposited using techniques like sputtering, enabling their integration into semiconductor-based electronics and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).
