Azido-PEG4-Amido-tri-(t-butoxycarbonylethoxymethyl)-methane is a branched PEG derivative with a terminal azide group and three t-butyl groups. The t-butyl groups can be removed under acidic conditions. The azide group can participate in copper-catalyzed Click Chemistry reactions with alkynes, DBCO and BCN to form stable triazole linkages. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the water solubility of compounds in aqueous media.
