SHIP-1 is a protein encoded by the INPP5D gene which is approximately 133, 3 kDa. SHIP-1 is localised to the cytoplasm and cell membrane. It is involved in inositol phosphate metabolism, RET signalling, B cell receptor signalling pathway and cell surface interactions at the vascular wall. This protein falls under the inositol polyphosphate-5-phosphatase family. It functions as a negative regulator of myeloid cell proliferation and survival. SHIP-1 is specifically expressed in immune and hematopoietic cells. Mutations in the INPP5D gene result in cancers of the immune system. STJ95655 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of SHIP-1 protein.
