Prolactin (PRL) or luteotropic hormone (LTH) is a peptide hormone primarily associated with lactation. Prolactin is usually measured when checking for pituitary tumors and the cause of: breast milk production that is not related to childbirth (galactorrhea), impotence, infertility, irregular menstrual periods.
