CaMKII beta/gamma/delta is a protein encoded by the CAMK2B gene which is approximately 72, 6 kDa. CaMKII beta/gamma/delta is localised to the cytoplasm. It is involved in RET signalling, post NMDA receptor activation events and cardiac conduction. It is a calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase that functions autonomously after Ca2+/calmodulin-binding and autophosphorylation. It plays a role in dendritic spine and synapse formation, neuronal plasticity and regulation of sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ transport in skeletal muscle. CaMKII beta/gamma/delta is widely expressed in human tissue including the adult and foetal brain. The CAMK2B gene is associated with Phencyclidine abuse. STJ90941 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This primary antibody specifically binds to endogenous CaMKII beta/gamma/delta protein which only binds about T287 when T287 is phosphorylated.
