Endophilin I is a protein encoded by the SH3GL2 gene which is approximately 39, 9 kDa. Endophilin I is localised to the cytoplasm and cell membrane. It is involved in clathrin derived vesicle budding, RET signalling and developmental biology. It function is in synaptic vesicle endocytosis. Endophilin I is expressed in the brain, mostly in the frontal cortex. Mutations in the SH3GL2 gene may result in childhood Pilocytic Astrocytoma. STJ92924 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Endophilin I protein.
