Cleaved-Notch 2 is a protein encoded by the NOTCH2 gene which is approximately 265, 4 kDa. Cleaved-Notch 2 is localised to the cell membrane, cytoplasm and nucleus. It is involved in the notch signalling pathway, glioma and diseases of glycosylation. It functions as a receptor for membrane-bound ligands Jagged1, Jagged2 and Delta1 to regulate cell-fate determination. Upon ligand it forms a transcriptional activator complex with RBPJ/RBPSUH and activates genes of the enhancer of split locus. Cleaved-Notch 2 is expressed in the brain, heart, kidney, lung, skeletal muscle and liver. Mutations in the NOTCH2 gene may result in Alagille syndrome. STJ90068 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of fragment activated Notch 2 protein resulting from cleavage adjacent to D1733.
