ChemR23 is a protein encoded by the CMKLR1 gene which is approximately 42, 3 kDa. ChemR23 is localised to the cell membrane. It is involved in the peptide ligand-binding receptors and is a receptor for the chemo-attractant adipokine chemerin/RARRES2 and for the omega-3 fatty acid derived molecule resolvin E1. Interaction with RARRES2 also induces activation of intracellular signalling molecules. ChemR23 is prominently expressed in developing osseous and cartilaginous tissue. Mutations in the CMKLR1 gene may result in Cataract and Alzheimer's disease. STJ92262 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of ChemR23 protein.
