Beta actin is a member of the actin protein family and is encoded by the ACTB gene. It localises to the cytoplasm where it acts as a cellular cytoskeleton, and is also involved in pathways at the blood-brain barrier, immune cell transmigration, regulation of actin cytoskeleton by Rho GTPases and development Slit-Robo signalling.
