ARF GAP3 is a protein encoded by the ARFGAP3 gene which is approximately 56, 9 kDa. ARF GAP3 is localised to the cytoplasm and Golgi apparatus membrane. It is involved in transport to the Golgi and subsequent modification, Golgi-to-ER retrograde transport and metabolism of proteins. It associates with the Golgi apparatus and regulates the early secretory pathway of proteins. The encoded protein promotes hydrolysis of ADP-ribosylation factor 1-bound GTP, which is required for the dissociation of coat proteins from Golgi-derived membranes and vesicles. ARF GAP3 is widely expressed with the highest expression in endocrine glands and testis. Mutations in the ARFGAP3 gene result in premature menopause. STJ91672 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of ARF GAP3 protein.
