Amino-dPEG®36-OH, product number 10869, also known as Amino-dPEG®36-alcohol, is a very long, monodispersed PEGylation reagent functionalized with a primary amine on one end of the molecule that reacts with carboxylic acids, aldehydes, and ketones. Reacting the amine group with carboxylic acids yields stable amides while reacting the amine group with aldehydes and ketones forms Schiff bases that are reducible to secondary amines for stability. If needed, various functional and reactive groups can modify the terminal alcohol on the opposite end of the molecule to provide the dPEG® product with additional reactivity or crosslinking capability.
PEGylation with dPEG® products
All of Quanta BioDesign's discrete PEG (dPEG®) products are monodispersed PEG products containing a single molecular weight of PEG with a discrete chain length. Conventional PEGylation reagents are dispersed polymers that consist of a broad range of different PEG molecular weights and chain lengths. Our dPEG® products provide superior performance to conventional PEG products because each product has a single PEG chain with a well-defined purity. Also, because dPEG® products have only one PEG chain and molecular weight to consider, conjugates made with dPEG® products are simpler to analyze that conjugates prepared with dispersed polymer PEGs.
Our dPEG® products come in a variety of architectures. Many different functional, reactive, and protective groups are available on our dPEG® products. Therefore, diverse applications are possible with our products. Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
