Aluminum nitride (AlN) sheets, a material esteemed for its technical properties and performance in challenging environments. Coupled with a volume resistivity surpassing 1013 ohm cm, these sheets provide reliable electrical insulation, even under high temperature conditions.
With a dielectric constant of about 9 at 1MHz, and a low dielectric loss tangent (3.8×10-4), AlN sheets maintain their insulating properties across a range of frequencies, making them suitable for high frequency applications. The electric strength of the material is rated at 17 KV/mm, which allows for its use in high-voltage environments without breakdown.
The coefficient of thermal expansion of AlN sheets is matched to silicon (4.6×10-6/C), which helps to manage thermal stresses that could lead to device failure. This matching is particularly beneficial for electronic substrates, where dimensional stability is crucial for component longevity.
