AflaTest WB SR is a quantitative method that uses immunoaffinity chromatography to selectively isolate aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2, M1, and M2 for fluorometer, LC or LC-MS/MS analysis. The SR test kit’s fast-flow widebore columns are specially designed to maximize aflatoxin G2 recovery and accelerate sample throughput. AflaTest WB SR can be used in a wide variety of locations from the farm elevator to food QC and safety laboratories.
Benefits
• Powerful – Designed to optimize performance for fluorometer, LC and LC-MS/MS use
• Enhanced Recovery – Improved aflatoxin G2 recovery
• Comprehensive — Determines individual aflatoxin levels (B1,B2,G1,G2, and M1) and total (B1, B2 ,G1, and G2) concentration
• Durable — Long shelf life; requires no refrigeration
• Versatile — For use with a variety of samples
• Quick — 15 minutes to isolate toxin*
• Large Volume - Column size of 3 mL
• Wide Range — Detects levels as high as 500 ng and as low as 0.005 ng for total aflatoxin
• Fast Flow — Passes more volume over the columnPlease contact us at for specific academic pricing.
Background
Aflatoxin, a toxin from a naturally occurring mold, is a Group 1 carcinogen proven to cause cancer in humans. The United States federal government action level for aflatoxin in food for human consumption or in dairy cowfeed is 20 ppb. For milk for human consumption the level is 0.5 ppb. Levels up to 300 ppb are allowed in certain circumstances for nondairy animal feed. The European Union’s aflatoxin regulations for groundnuts, tree nuts, dried fruit, spices, and cereals include limits as low as 4 ppb total aflatoxins and 2 ppb for aflatoxin B1. Some EU member states have also separately established their own maximum limits on aflatoxins.
