Ube2T is an E2 enzyme, which is part of the E1, E2, and E3 cascade responsible for ubiquitination of protein substrates. Ube2T interacts with the E3 ligase called Fanconi anemia complementation group L (FANCL) that is part of a larger complex to regulate DNA damage repair. Once FANCL interacts with Ube2T, the complex is then able to monoubiquitinate FANCD2 that leads to the DNA repair. Ube2T can also interact with the BRCA1/BARD1 complex.
