TYW5 (TRNA-YW Synthesizing Protein 5) acts as a component of the wybutosine biosynthesis pathway. It catalyzes the hydroxylation of 7- (a-amino-a-carboxypropyl) wyosine (yW-72) into undermodified hydroxywybutosine (OHyW).
