Timentin (ticarcillin disodium and clavulanate potassium), is a penicillin ß-lactam antibiotic with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activities. It acts against gram-negative cocci, other than enterococci and methicillin-resistant staphylococci, and against Enterobacteriaceae including drug-resistant strains, P. aeruginosa, and gram-positive and gram-negative anaerobesis. Timentin is a semisynthetic carboxypenicillin antibiotic that is used to test marker gene uptake.
