Single Donor Human Red Blood Cells

Single Donor Human Red Blood Cells are separated from a standard unit (approximately 450ml starting volume) of whole blood. The whole blood is centrifuged into layers, and the red blood cells are manually extracted (no chemical separators are used). The resulting RBC volume is approximately 250ml. These cells are not washed or resuspended. This product is custom-collected per order.
Due to unexpected cost implications as a result of the ongoing pandemic, this price has been increased. Please note every effort is being made to mitigate this increase and it will be monitored regularly.

Viral Testing
Each unit is tested for the standard FDA-required viral markers, and found negative for HBsAg, HCV, HIV-1, HIV-2, HIV-1Ag or HIV-1 NAT, ALT, West Nile Virus NAT, Zika NAT and syphilis using FDA-approved methods. When applicable a licensed NAT for Babesia has been performed and found to be non-reactive, if you would like any further testing or analysis performed prior to shipping, please let us know. While we make every effort to ensure the safety of our products, we recommend following universal precautions as laid out the following organizations WHO, CDC and OSHA, handle biological materials as if capable of spreading infectious disease.
