SYT5 Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 301 amino acids (109-386aa) and having a molecular mass of 33.6kDa. SYT5 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. SynaptotagminV, (SYT5) is a member of synaptotagmin family, which is a family of type IIImembrane proteins characterized by cytoplasmic repeats related to proteinkinase C regulatory (C2) domains that are considered to bind calcium. Synaptotagmins function as negative regulators of vesicle fusion, allowingfusion in the attendance of calcium, and as calcium receptors or sensormolecules. Among the diseases associated with SYT5 are labyrinthitis, andthyroiditis.
