SLC51B Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 95 amino acids (57-128 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 10.7kDa. SLC51B is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Solute Carrier Family 51 Beta (SLC51B), is a protein coding gene. SLC51Bis an organic solute transporter subunit. SLC51 is composed of two different proteinsthat must heterodimerize to generate transport activity, however the role ofthe individual subunits inmediating transport activity is unknown. The results show that SLC51B isrequired for both proper trafficking of SLC51A and formation of the functional transportunit, and identify specific residues of SLC51B essential for these processes. Among the diseases associated with SLC51B areextrahepatic cholestasis, and biliary atresia.
