SVIP Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 100 amino acids (1-77) and having a molecular mass of 10.8 kDa. SVIP is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Small VCP/p97-interacting protein (SVIP) is involved in various cellular processes, including membrane fusion and ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation. SVIP functions as an inhibitor of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated degradation (ERAD) pathway. On the other hand, SVIP overexpression increased the levels of p62 protein and enhanced starvation-activated autophagy as well as stimulated sequestration of polyubiquitinated proteins and p62 in autophagosomes.
