RPL8 Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 277 amino acids (1-257 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 30.2kDa. RPL8 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.60S ribosomal protein L8 (RPL8) is a member of the ribosomal protein L2P family. Ribosomes consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. RPL8 is found in the cytoplasm and exists as a component of the 60S subunit where it is assumed to have role in aminoacyl-tRNA binding, specifically at the ribosomal subunit interface. In rats, the RPL8 protein connects with the 5.8S rRNA, and possibly participates in the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA, and is a component of the elongation factor 2-binding site at the ribosomal subunit interface.
