    Recombinant ADAMTS1 is used to study the degradation of extracellular matrix proteoglycans, to screen for inhibitors of proteoglycan hydrolysis and to characterize inhibitor actions. The enzyme can also serve as standard in enzymatic and immunochemical assays.
