The E. Coli truncated derived recombinant protein contains the p27 immunodominant regions, containing 248 amino acids (271-519) and having a Mw of 35kda as visualized by SDS-PAGE. The protein is fused to His tag at C-terminus. FeLV is an RNA virus, a member of the Retroviridae family and Oncovirinae subfamily. FeLV retrovirus infects cats and is transferred from infected cats by saliva or nasal secretions. FeLV causes immunosuppression in domestic cats and larger wild cat populations such as cheetahs and lions and is the cause for a form of cancer of the blood cells called lymphocytes (a leukemia) which can be lethal.
