        • PRTN3 is a natural antigen having a molecular mass of 25kDa to 32kDa due to glycosylation isoforms. PRTN3 is isolated from human peripheral blood leukocytes. PRTN3 is a polymorphonuclear leukocyte serine protease which degrades elastin, fibronectin, laminin, vitronectin, and collagen types I, III, and IV (in vitro) and causes emphysema once managed by tracheal insufflation to hamsters.
