PRPS1 Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 338 amino acids (1-318 a.a.) and having a molecular weight of 36.9kDa. The PRPS1 is fused to 20 a.a His-Tag at N-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. PRPS1 catalyzes the synthesis of phosphoribosylpyrophosphate (PRPP) that is essential for nucleotide synthesis. PRPS1 catalyzes the phosphoribosylation of ribose 5-phosphate to 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate, which is essential for purine metabolism and nucleotide biosynthesis. Defects in PRPS1 result in phosphoribosylpyrophosphate synthetase superactivity, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease X-linked recessive type 5 and Arts Syndrome.
