        • Luminol is a very efficient and commonly used chemiluminiscent compound in condensed phase. When basic solutions of luminol containing oxygen are treated with an oxidizing agent, light is produced. Oxidising agents capable of initiating this particular reaction are Nitrogen dioxide, PAN, hydrogen peroxide, ozone and other atmospheric oxidants.
