HS3ST1 Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 310 amino acids (21-307 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 36.2kDa. HS3ST1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Heparan Sulfate 3-O-Sulfotransferase 1 (HS3ST1), is sulfotransferase which uses 3'-phospho-5'-adenylyl sulfate (PAPS) to catalyze the transfer of a sulfo group to position 3 of glucosamine residues in heparan. HS3ST1 catalyzes the rate limiting step in the biosynthesis of heparan sulfate (HSact). This modification is a vital part in the biosynthesis of anticoagulant heparan sulfate since it concludes the structure of the antithrombin pentasaccharide binding site.
