HLA-DRA Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single,non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 212 amino acids (26-216 a.a) andhaving a molecular mass of 24.3kDa. HLA-DRA is fused to a 21 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Major histocompatibility complex, class II, DR alpha (HLA-DRA) belongsto the MHC class II family. HLA-DRA binds peptides derived from antigens whichaccess the endocytic route of antigen presenting cells (APC) and presents themon the cell surface for identification by the CD4 T-cells. The peptide bindingcleft accommodates peptides of 10-30 residues. The peptides presented by MHCclass II molecules are generated mainly by degradation of proteins which accessthe endocytic route, where they are processed by lysosomal proteases and otherhydrolases.
